The median is £58/kg; 10% cost less than £42/kg, 10% more than £68/kg (n = 75 coffees with a price).
Washed is the most common process (87% of the coffees with a known process).
Where the roasters state the altitude (73%), it is mostly between 1,650 and 1,800 m.

For many roasters, Kenya is the origin of bright, juicy filter coffees. Coffee grows mainly on the slopes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares, in regions such as Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Embu and Meru. Most of it comes from smallholders who deliver their cherries to cooperative washing stations, which in Kenya are called “factories”, so a coffee often carries the name of a factory rather than a farm. The classic process is washed, often with a long fermentation and a soak in clean water before drying.
Typical Kenyan varieties are SL28 and SL34, selected in the 1930s by Scott Laboratories in Nairobi, alongside the more disease-resistant breeds Ruiru 11 and Batian. The letters on the bag (AA, AB, PB for peaberry) describe bean size, not quality. Roasters often describe Kenyan coffees with blackcurrant, citrus and a bold, winey acidity.
