The median is £54/kg; 10% cost less than £40/kg, 10% more than £74/kg (n = 530 coffees with a price).
Most of them come from Colombia, Kenya and Guatemala.

In washed coffee, the cherry is pulped soon after harvest: a machine strips off the skin and fruit. The sticky mucilage underneath is loosened by fermentation in tanks and washed off, and the bean dries in its parchment. Because little fruit stays on the bean, washed coffees are known as clean and clear; origin and variety come through more distinctly, and often so does the acidity.
Washed is the usual method in Colombia, Kenya and much of Central America. It takes a lot of water and equipment but gives consistent results. This page lists every coffee whose roaster states washed as the process; the flavour notes on the cards are the roasters' words, read and grouped by AI. Washed means the skin and fruit are removed straight after harvest, and the sticky mucilage is loosened by fermentation and washed off. Only the bean, still in its parchment, is dried. You will also see it called wet process, wet-processed or fully washed.
