Geisha, also spelt Gesha, is a coffee variety from Ethiopia that became famous in Panama. The plants are considered low-yielding, and many Geishas are sold in small, separately processed lots. Prices vary widely: a Geisha from Colombia or Peru can cost far less than an auction lot from Panama.
We count a coffee as Geisha if the roaster names Geisha or Gesha in its title, or lists it as the only variety or the first of two. A blend of several varieties with a little Geisha in it is not included, so it is not compared with pure Geishas.
